the Father had given all things into His hands --

Cross Ref. Phil. 2:9-11

9 For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, 10 so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

[Jesus], knowing who He was, became a servant --

Jesus knew who He was. He knew He was the ruler of all the earth. He knew that He came from God and was returning to Him.

Knowing this, he became a servant and washed their feet:

Phl 2:8

Being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

The men of this age would have had the exact opposite reaction. They would immediately move to rule over others. Jesus did the very opposite, He served others.
