Where I am going
--
Jesus repeats this statement many times in the book of John. It is not found in the other gospels
What does He mean by this? He came from God above and He is going to die, be resurrected, and return to His father in heaven. At that point, they will be unable to find Him or follow Him.
Those who did not believe that He was from God will die in their sins. He is the only fountain of forgiveness and they rejected Him. They will seek forgiveness through other means and will not find it, and they will die in their sins.

LIST OF SCRIPTURES
- Two times in this chapter:
- John 8:14 Jesus answered and said to them, "Even if I testify about Myself, My testimony is true, for I know where I came from and where I am going; but you do not know where I come from or where I am going.
- John 8:21-22 Then He said again to them, "I go away, and you will seek Me, and will die in your sin; where I am going, you cannot come." So the Jews were saying, "Surely He will not kill Himself, will He, since He says, 'Where I am going, you cannot come'?"
- John 7:34 "You will seek Me, and will not find Me; and where I am, you cannot come."
- John 13:33 "Little children, I am with you a little while longer. You will seek Me; and as I said to the Jews, now I also say to you, 'Where I am going, you cannot come.'
- John 14:4 "And you know the way where I am going."
