spoke in the treasury (γαζοφυλάκιον) --
Meyer's NT Commentary

ἐν τῷ [γαζοφυλάκιον] At the treasury. ... though it cannot be substantiated—that the place itself where the treasury stood was called [γαζοφυλάκιον]; so also Tholuck, Brückner. Respecting the γαζοφυλάκιον, which consisted of thirteen brazen chests destined to receive the taxes and charitable offerings in the temple, see on Mark 12:41.

NOTE: The quote above was modified to replace the abbreviation for γαζοφυλάκιον with the entire word. It was put in brackets to identify this change.

His hour had not yet come --

Jesus' life was in constant peril. The Jewish leaders were constantly seeking to seize Him and kill Him. But the scriptures show us how God protected Him "because His hour had not yet come":

John 7:44
Some of them wanted to seize Him, but no one laid hands on Him.

John 7:30
So they were seeking to seize Him; and no man laid his hand on Him, because His hour had not yet come.

John 8:59
Therefore they picked up stones to throw at Him, but Jesus hid Himself and went out of the temple.

John 10:31
The Jews picked up stones again to stone Him.

John 10:39
Therefore they were seeking again to seize Him, and He eluded their grasp.

John 11:8
The disciples said to Him, "Rabbi, the Jews were just now seeking to stone You, and are You going there again?"

Mat 21:46
When they sought to seize Him, they feared the people, because they considered Him to be a prophet.

Mat 26:4
and they plotted together to seize Jesus by stealth and kill Him.

Mar 12:12
And they were seeking to seize Him, and [yet] they feared the people, for they understood that He spoke the parable against them. And [so] they left Him and went away.

Mar 14:1
Now the Passover and Unleavened Bread were two days away; and the chief priests and the scribes were seeking how to seize Him by stealth and kill [Him;]
