Jesus Sat Down and Was Teaching the People in the Temple --

Jesus was probably teaching in the area known as Solomon's Portico. Most of the pictures that have been painted depict Jesus as standing and teaching, but it states specifically that Jesus sat down to teach the people. Although this seems like a simple detail, even small details, if not correct, can lead to an inaccurate view of the scripture. In this case, I can't see any real difference, but I'd rather visualize it correctly. Who knows? It might be important.

Mat 26:55 NASB95

At that time Jesus said to the crowds, "Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest Me as [you would] against a robber? Every day I used to sit in the temple teaching and you did not seize Me.
