Also righteousness will be the belt about His loins, And faithfulness the belt about His waist. [NASB]

Loins / Waist --

Both words refer to the middle of the body where the belt would be. The meaning of these two words as to righteousness and faithfulness is unclear. Most commentaries understand this as being central to His being and the seat of a person's strength. They conclude that Righteousness and Faithfulness are the source of His power and strength.

This is contrary to earthly kings whose power comes from armies and wealth.

Jesus is totally righteous and faithful, and these define His power and majesty.
