Why Prayers Go Unanswered -- The Bible tells us that God does not answer all prayers. Its not that the answer is "no", He tells us that He does not even hear them:
  • Prayers offered by a person who has unrepented sin in his/her life.
  • Prayers of a husband who does not treat his wife with consideration:
    1 Pet. 3:7

7 You husbands in the same way, live with your wives in an understanding way, as with someone weaker, since she is a woman; and show her honor as a fellow heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers will not be hindered.

  • Prayers that are offered for selfish motives, to gratify our selfish desrires.
    James 5:2b-3

You do not have because you do not ask. 3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.
