Sheltering In Place

God Invented Sheltering In Place

As I write this, the entire world lies in the grip of a pandemic. People are advised to stay home and refrain from gatherings. This may be new to us, but God invented Sheltering In Place.

In Isaiah 26:20, God tells them

"Come, my people, enter into your rooms
And close your doors behind you;
Hide for a little while
Until indignation runs its course" NASB

But our shelter is not made of brick and stone, it is in the name of God and in His presence:

1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
Will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say to the LORD, "My refuge and my fortress,
My God, in whom I trust!"
3 For it is He who delivers you from the snare of the trapper
And from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with His pinions,
And under His wings you may seek refuge;
His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark.
5 You will not be afraid of the terror by night,
Or of the arrow that flies by day;
[Psalm 91:1-5 NASB]

The name of the LORD is a strong tower;
The righteous run to it and are safe. [Prov. 18:10 NLT]

Jesus said "Come unto me all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." [Mat. 11:28] If you are afraid and don't know where to turn, then answer Jesus' call: "Come." Find a place of refuge in Him. Receive His love and forgiveness. Rest in His mighty arms.
